Orange Presbyterian Church is a growing church in the Central West of NSW. We are a church that is all about the good news of Jesus and making his name known in our town and region. We are a congregation of the Presbyterian Church of NSW and are led by a team of seven elders and our pastor. We have two worship services each Sunday in Orange at 10am and 4pm, as well as a church that meets weekly in Blayney in person and via livestream.
RATIONALE
God has richly blessed our church with around 100 children and youth across our church community. It is tasked to us, in partnership with parents, to seek to invest in them with the gospel of Jesus. Over the past number of years, we have employed a Children & Families worker, Youth Discipleship Co-Ordinator and more recently, a Youth Pastor. As a church, we are now seeking someone to join our team as a single Youth and Children’s Pastor.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The role of Youth and Children’s Pastor is a 4 day position that is all about investing in the next generation with the Gospel of Jesus. It is a role that seeks to oversee the pathways for ministry to
children and youth. The person in this role will work under the direction of the session and minister of Orange Presbyterian Church in the following (but not limited to) key areas.
• Oversight of all Children and Youth Ministry at OPC
Oversight of all JPY ministry and related events and programs
Provide on the ground leadership of Friday night youth group
Oversight and direction of Sunday School at both 10am and 4pm
Providing leadership and direction at Pipsqueaks and Sunday JPY
Providing training and resources for all those involved in ministry towards children and youth
Providing discipleship training and resource materials for families and the wider church relating to children and youth
Strengthening links with other youth ministries we are already connected to (eg. KYCK, PY, SU)
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential:
Committed follower of Jesus
Passionate about Youth and Children’s ministry
Has proven experience in leading and serving in both children and youth ministry
Has a demonstrated heart for training and equipping leaders
Has completed, or is currently completing, formal theological training at an Australian
University of Theology college or equivalent institution
Ability to work both independently as a team leader and collaboratively as a team member
Current WWCC and up-to-date Breaking the Silence (BTS) training
Essential:
Commitment to the theology and practice of the Presbyterian Church of Australia
A communicant member of a PCA church (or willingness to become one)
Competent administration skills
A working knowledge of BTS requirements for children and youth ministry
STIPEND:
Paid according to the schedule for Pastoral Assistants (Supervised) as set by the GANSW.
This position includes the full 1.0 FTE accomodation allowance
COMMENCEMENT:
The successful candidate would commence in January 2026 (date to be negotiated).

Our church is seeking a gospel-hearted, motivated and creative individual to join our ministry team in January 2025. Our Office Administrator is a vital part of our ministry team at Orange Presbyterian Church. They help and support our pastoral staff through aiding in the communication and administration of many areas within our church community, as well as being an external contact with the broader community.
